Guillaume N Hoang-Oanh Saussay

(b.1987 Nouméa New Caledonia, Australia from 2007) Guillaume N Hoang-Oanh Saussay is a Neo Caledonian born contemporary artist exploring vivid and compelling polychromatic concepts. They aspire to create sensory experiences that stimulate and engage their audience. Their work is constantly influenced by their surroundings. Living in Australasia and Europe has helped guide their work. From their early works which consisted of large abstract paintings to the more recent, minimal, composed hand drawings, it’s evident that their style has grown and flourished, illustrating a real evolution. The abstract and colourful works by Gui inspire the viewer to create their own universe that pushes the boundaries of imagination. They create a majestic cosmos which is manifested in their amorphous shapes. This is their perception of a realm where matter exists beyond our understanding. Gui lives and works in Sydney, Australia as a non-binary / agender contemporary mark making colourist focused on creating bodies of work inspired by culture as much as nature aspiring to make the real look unreal.
