Wai Ying Ng (Diana)

Diana Ng is an emerging artist from Hong Kong, holds a Diploma of Visual Arts from TAFE and a Bachelor of Fine Art from the National Art School. She is exhibiting regularly in Sydney.

Her practice is driven by material tactility, her works explore how touch and bodily sensations can transform a space. Her works are mostly site-specific installations, working across different media, including steel, timber, fabrics, latex, videos, photography, etc. Her practice is not limited to specific media, she seeks to realize a body of work with an experimental approach, often using unfamiliar materials as a means of expression.

Coming from an Asian background combined with her love of travel, Diana enjoys merging her unique perspective in her work that transcends a specific cultural language. Her current project aims at embodying emotions as physical sensations, playing with the possibility of soft materials, she is experimenting on the potential of how art shifts as the exhibition location changes.

She hopes to curate an experience that responds to the venue.
