The Nest Creative Space is excited to present The Incubator...

A new micro exhibition space located in the front window of the warehouse. It is illuminated day and night, presenting art to the public 24/7 without opening hours. A golden egg and iconic space for art lovers locally and from all over to visit or stumble upon.

The Incubator allows our Nesters to exhibit work as a work in progress or in a “finished” and ready to exhibit state. Through this project we aim to continue Sydney’s tradition of “hole-in-the-wall” galleries and invite visitors from Redfern and surrounding areas to the view new work in The Incubator without entering a traditional gallery space.

The small size of The Incubator presents an interesting challenge to the artist; the dimensions of the space and angular walls provide a unique set of constraints to create around. This model encourages risk-taking and the creation of new work or the adaptation of existing bodies of work to compliment the space.
