My name is Ember. I am a Queer Disabled Autistic Acryllic Pour Artist and Social Worker and a passionate intersectional feminist. My work utilises metaphorical imagery and colour to explore psychological experiences and inner journeys including forging identities, queer pride, recovery from depression and suicide prevention. Javiera Labrin is an Australian/Chilean visual artist based in Kurilpa. Her works depict the struggles, lessons, and realities of life while provoking thought and discourse using text, vibrant colour compositions and imagery to explore a wide range of social issues.

Jennifer Spalding

RawInk expands visually on her concepts and personal philosophies relative to the world and the psyche within. Her expressions usually take the form of acrylic/ oil painting, and various mediums with drawing including charcoals and inks, digital illustrations. Raw Ink isn't able to be visually categorised into a genre of either traditional/ modern or street art as her skills and comprehension of art take on elements from all of the art era's to have existed before her with heavy influences from her Thai heritage.

Lily Turek

LILGRL is a kooky and queer 26-year-old artist hailing from far North Queensland. Currently residing in Meanjin (Brisbane), Lily's artistic journey encompasses a self-taught visual arts practice and studies in art psychotherapy.  Through their visual landscape, LILGRL uses art as a means to process and confront the shadows of their past, inviting both the creator and the audience to question their perspectives on lived experiences and the healing methods they employ in their daily lives. LILGRL's artwork is showcased on various mediums such as skateboard decks, canvas, and plastic perspex, with an added touch of industrialized flair through free-form stained glass. Each piece presents a vibrant array of characters, colors, and patterns, offering a sense of warmth and comfort while addressing taboo subjects like sexual assault, neurodiversity, feminism, queerness, skate culture, and mental health challenges.

Ruby Ford

Ruby Ford is a visual artist based in Meanjin (Brisbane). Her painting practices are most recognised by her playful use of colours and textures that are used as a way to heal her inner child.  In her work, she often explores themes of life’s everyday simplicities and the subtle feelings that make up being human, those can include contentment, serenity, or love. She aims to bring joy through her artwork by embellishing the everyday mundanity.

Shani Fincham

Shani Finch is a mixed media fine artist/creative mastermind residing in Meanjin. Their mediums include (but are not limited to) Acrylic, Gouache, Ink, Pyrography, Jewellery, Fashion, Digital Design, Murals and Performance Art. Finch uses their art to transform their profound thoughts and feelings into the physical realm, creating images which subvert dominantly held constructions of gender and pain. They achieve this through candid self-expression and reflection, drawing creative inspiration from their rich lived experience. Using bright colours to give light to dark emotions, Shani offers illustrations of their inner psyche while inviting others to embrace their own innate vulnerability.
